Watchers' Highlights - January
The first feature of the year is here! This one will be just a little bit different, as in addition to the wonderful works of my watchers, it also includes artists I cannot - in large part - highlight by name specifically. On my end, quite a lot happened already, and my personal highlight is going to the cinema to see "The Peasants"; as an artist, I was completely awestruck by what the painters achieved with this animation. Trailer here, for those of you who want to understand what I am talking about: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O8nME5pUHPo The movie was shot normally, and afterwards over a hundred oil painters painstakingly recreated the key frames. It took Breakthru Films over five years to make this moving painting. To me, it's a triumph. A showcase of what animation can be, what human minds and hands are able to create, and what will never be matched by artificial intelligence - not necessarily craft-wise, but rather by how saturated with emotions every scene is. I had
